The Army Side of Me
I’m very proud to say that I’m an Army Brat; by the time I was 40, I had moved over 20 times – so change isn’t something I’m afraid of.
I was also a Reserve Officer in the Canadian Army for over 20 years and now that I’ve retired, I’m more than happy to take the time I currently have and work to increase and share my internet sales experience with everyone.
Here’s a picture of me & my father – a good old Army Sergeant and Vietnam Veteran (yes Canada did send them there via the United Nations) – presenting me with my graduation certificate for my Captains rank.
The Civilian Side of Me
I’ve been a Bank Manager, a Collections Officer for their Legal Department as well as a Business Consultant. Currently, I’m working for the Canadian Government. All of these experiences have brought me to the realization that if you want to break the 9 to 5 rut as an employee, you need to be working for yourself; hence this blog.
So if you’re asking yourself: “So what’s with the microphone?” Well, a good friend of mine who is a Sound Engineer and has a recording studio, (who for the past 30 years + has also been my business partner) was in a bit of a bind and asked me if I wouldn’t record a voice-over work for him. I apparently did that so well that it became a side gig.
During all that time, I also gained quite a lot of knowledge regarding how to sell online on different Social Media platforms like Facebook Marketplace, dropshipping, direct sales and of course, Affiliate Marketing.
That period of time also gave me the opportunity to clearly see that there are many internet courses out there. Many of them are trying to sell us that “get rich quick” philosophy of Clicking 4, 5 times and boom, you’re a millionaire! Reality check: It doesn’t exist! So I figured I’d save some people a little bit of time and money – or a lot of both – and share with everyone what my experiences have been – including the good and the bad.
So here we are, a blog about Affiliate Marketing, but more importantly, about sharing experiences and knowledge with others to see if we can’t get ourselves to the type of life we always wanted: the one where we break from the 9 to 5 rut and do what we want when we want to!
One last thing: there’s no way I could have made it without my fantastic wife Anne-Marie. My father was ever so right when he said that behind every good soldier, is an even better spouse!
I’m happy to say that we’ve been married for over 30 years and with this fantastic lady at my side, we’ve been able to go through the good and the not so good. We totally love to travel (yup, that’s the Army life that provided that one) and we definitely love to cruise (preferably to warmer climates).
Looking forward to reading your comments as well as answering any questions you may have so that we can both help each other reach our goals!
To your success! To our success!
