Why hello everyone!!
Glad to be back!
As you may be thinking, the last four, five months haven’t really gone the way I anticipated. As many of you who’ve been following my blog can attest, I haven’t been consistent in my blog entries; heck, this is only my second entry of the year!
There will always be something or someone to take you away from what you must do to get to where you want to get; but chances are, if you’re not getting there, it’s most likely because you’re in a self-destruct mode more than anything else.
So why so gloomy right off the bat? Well, as my lack of blog entries can attest, the first couple of months in the new year didn’t start off the way I had anticipated. My work contract was cancelled in March instead of August.
On a more personal note, the musical application I’ve been working on with my business associates is STILL not out… and most likely won’t be before end of June, (reasons to be mentioned later), so, with all of that going around, my body went into shutdown mode for the first few weeks of March. Good thing that I had a vacation coming up at that time where we went to Martinique – I was able to get myself there and take-in the good sun, good food and well, good drinks!
I do have to say though that I did go through a bit of a “poor me” syndrome but didn’t really have the time because when I came back from vacation, I started work on another contract I got while on vacation. As many of you may know, Canadians had to chose a new government and well, elections do take preparation and for the past 6 weeks or so, I’ve been working 12-14 hour days — hence the lack of energy and sleep without forgetting the lack of blog entries, Tik Tok videos, etc…
The one good thing in all of this is that I usually start reading when I get in that type of mood and I actually fell on a great book from Mel Robbins “Let Them”. I think it’s a continuation of her previous award winning book “The 5 second rule”. Essentially, it’s a mindset shift which principally focuses on accepting others’ choices and actions without trying to control or change them. It’s about releasing the burden of expectations and focusing on your own well-being and boundaries. You have to be ready to do so – I was – and I can assure you that it’s worth every dollar!
So even though it’s been somewhat gloomy, the positive side of me has still tried to get on top and get back to basics.
“You don’t need to be great to start…. But you need to start to be great”.
It’s a bit like taking that first step into the unknown without hesitation and negative thought; you know you’re doing the right thing, you’re just not sure where it will lead you.
Doing What Counts And Perfect Timing
We all talk about the importance of preparing ourselves in a new year and reviewing what went right – and wrong – for the year that has just finished but the big question I’ve always asked myself (maybe because I’m getting older?) was this: “what defines the things I should be doing to succeed?“. That phrase has also been changed to: what do I do to “become the person capable of success“. (Hanging around Dean and the folks at Internet Profits does have consequences when you listen).
For those who are Certified Partners with Dean at Internet Profits (IP) you must have received an email this week talking about the changes Dean is bringing to IP. One notable information that really struck home for me was the possibility of “starting over” within IP.
Now, to be clear, it’s not really starting over so much as working with him and his team to provide even better opportunities to new members. THAT got me thinking that the timing couldn’t be more perfect than now!
So you see, even though the past months have been quite “hard”, it still offers quite a load of opportunities because I’m open and willing to see what lies in front of me.
Change Your Habits
So what now?
Well, first off, I’m changing a few of the bad habits I had. Even though I now have more time to work on my online business, I need to manage that time and make better use of the day.
Yes, I can work longer hours but how about I look at working towards efficiency? How about making the best use of my time so that, as Dean had mentioned to us, I “become a person capable of success”.
And that part, is, I believe, the elusive part that I wasn’t really sold on before the New Year. My wife and I spoke during our vacation and she was honest but particularly blunt about the time I was using – or not using – for my business. I made her smile when I used Deans phrase of being a “busy fool”… That definitely has to stop and putting in 6 to 7 hours a day on my business will mean that I’m putting probably 30 to 35 hours a week or 140 hours a month. If that doesn’t put perspective on success, I don’t know what will.
So right now, I’m putting together my “success plan”. Basically, a schedule of my time, a budget of my resources as well as a timeline for the next 6 months. I want to put every available opportunity I can have to succeed on my side! I was going to say “third times a charm” but considering how many hours and time I’ve already spent getting to this point, I think I’ll just let my actions speak for themselves.
So here we go! Time to get everything together and with the help of Dean, Sophie and Glenn at IP as well as your help, I want to make the best of 2025!
Next week, I’ll give you a rundown of what I’ve planned, accomplished and will be doing so that we can grow together!

To your success…to our success!
Hey Marc,
I can definitely relate to this post mate. I think I have just published my second blog post for the year too. This is a good time to get back into the swing of things.
I am working toward more consistency myself.
I hope that things have picked up for you after your rough few months.
Hi Sean,
Thank you for your comment; it definitely has changed how consistent – or how I thought I was consistent – I need to become and have the success I’m looking for! Hope the same for you my friend!
What a refreshingly honest and relatable post! Life really does have a habit of throwing curveballs just when we think we’ve got it all mapped out! I love your self-awareness and your willingness to adapt, reflect, and grow—even when things feel a bit upside down. I love Mel Robbins and the Let Them theory comes into my life very often! Can’t wait to see what your success plan looks like next week. Cheering you on for a powerful second half of 2025!
Hi Sarah,
Appreciate the comment & definitely the cheers for this half of 2025! Looking forward to seeing positive results!
Marc, this really spoke to me—especially your point about becoming the person capable of success. I work with people navigating midlife changes, and that shift—from just chasing results to actually believing you’re worthy of the life you’re building—is everything.
When we stop just “doing” and start becoming, that’s when real progress happens. It’s not just about better habits—it’s about finally trusting ourselves enough to show up like it matters.
Excited to follow your journey—what’s helped you most with that mindset shift?
Hi Alison,
Thank you for your comment. I would say that you nailed it on the head: what helped me the most is truly believing now that I could become the person capable of success.
Hi Marc – It’s great to read your blog post (and hear your voice through the audio that you include in the post). You have been missed and I’m glad to see you back. I’m sorry for some of the unfortunate missteps that have been going on for you, but I like it how you see it as an opportunity to get back in this game. I look forward to watching your journey continue and I look forward to learning from you. Thanks for taking the time to not only be transparent but to offer true value. I look forward to next week’s post!
Hi Ernie,
Thank you for your great comment and yes, really happy to be back. Looking to be consistent going forward and share everything with everyone!
Hey Marc,
Great to see you back! Sorry to hear the last few months were rough with the contract ending early and the musical app delay, but you’re bouncing back strong it looks like! I love how you’re turning things around with a new mindset from “Let Them” and Dean’s advice about becoming the person capable of success. Your plan to work smarter with a success schedule sounds solid. I struggle with time management too, any tips on sticking to your new habits? Excited to hear more next week, and I’m rooting for you!
Meredith
Hi Meredith,
Happy to be back! Hopefully turning things around in a positive way.
Regarding the time management tools, I’m looking at Reclaim AI or Motion. Both seem to have pro’s and con’s about them… Maybe the best thing will be to try them out & see how the fill the need!
Hey Marc! Nice to hear from you again! Looks like you didn’t lose your writing ability. Like you the first months of the year weren’t in favor of my affiliate business as I got a new job in engineering so no time left aside except maybe a little 1hr per day. To save time I’ve put AI on my side so I can manage to have some content online. It’s a perfect assistant actually. Never upset, never complaining. For me, becoming capable of success start from finding the time to work on my business and the efficiency at which I work this time. AI here comes in handy. oh and I forgot the distractions (read the NHL playoffs) that grab my attention maybe too much as my wife reminds me. 😆
Looking forward to read your next post!
Martin
Hi Martin,
Happy to see you here and thank you for your comment. Absolutely, time is very precious and any time you can use AI to help you run things along, I say “go for it!”. Love the fact that it doesn’t complain or become upset too – and it doesn’t drink my coffee!
All the best!
Hi Marc, good to hear you again. Don’t be bothered by circumstances keep pushing through. You offer such a good prospective it would be ashamed to see it not grow to flourish. Hang in there I know you can do it!
Hi Ken,
Thank you for your comment and support. Definitely been through too much to leave it all behind, that’s for sure!
