Think About It, But: Never Quit

Wow! end of November is already here! I don’t know about you (envious of warmer places), but living in the eastern part of Canada means that the cold is coming… and I’m not ready for it!

That being said, I’ve been away for the past couple of weeks and not posting as I regularly do. I’ve had to take care of so many things around my house, my other business, work, being involved with Remembrance Day celebrations a few weeks back and, unfortunately, having to deal, (once again this year), with the death of a family member and friend.

Days and weeks are floating by and it seems as if I can’t get anything done. But one thing is for sure: I haven’t quit and to quote Dean who so nicely responded to one of my messages: “we’re not going anywhere!

Putting Things In Perspective

So what does this all mean? Well, life happens. period. You may want to plan everything – I sure fall in that bracket – but sometimes, things are just out of your

control. What do you do then? Well, you carry on!

I also need to be honest, I did spend a few days mulling over the fact that I hadn’t written anything in my blog; I even had a hard time writing something for Remembrance Day and then calmness and reality came onboard and I told myself: “that’s life!”

So if you find yourself being “late” within your blog or the work you anticipate doing; whether that be a Tik Tok video, an update on your YouTube videos or anything else relative to your business, don’t fret – things happen – even better: life happens. Just remember to pick-up where you left things off and continue.

We all know the old adage “don’t fret over spilled milk”. That old adage has been around for over 360 years. It has changed to other words being used but generally speaking, it still boils down to this: “you can’t change something that has already happened and to which you have no control“.

There is one reality though: in September, I had blogged that I’d like to find myself with some revenue in December – or at least by the end of 2024 – unfortunately, that didn’t pan out as anticipated.

It truly did make me rethink my whole online business though. Was I still going forward? Would I want to continue taking and putting in time towards something that, for now, hasn’t provided any revenue? I think the answer to that was more in line with what I had told myself at the beginning of the year: I didn’t invest all that time and money, into my business and myself, to throw it all away.

The other thing I also need to remember: this needs to be fun. I told myself a few years back that I wouldn’t do “work” if it wasn’t fun and, to be honest, being around all the people at Deans Internet Profits and Affiliate System Community is really something positive I truly like.

Going Forward Positively

So what now? Where do I stand and what do I do? Well, one thing I definitely need to pick-up is my Tik Tok videos. Many here and many at Affiliate Marketing have taken up that Social Media platform as the next step in finding success online.

We all know Tik Tok is the fastest growing social media platform. What that means is that there’s definitely a big opportunity for us on that application. But it also means that we need to keep abreast of news, platform updates, algorithm changes. The application has gone through so many changes during 2024, it’s undoubtedly worthwhile for everyone to keep yourself updated if you’re using – or plan to – this Social Media platform for your success.

One thing that has come up in different conversations is the opportunity to sell other peoples products via Tik Tok. Remember, Affiliate Marketing is all about selling other peoples’ products and getting paid for it, something that many are finding to be quite lucrative.

For those on Deans emails list, you may recently have been part of emails sent to you regarding training he was going to offer; more specifically his YFS Bootcamp. It’s an opportunity to basically be paid affiliate commissions without having to drive traffic, writing emails or sending DM’s – you know, the regular stuff we need to do when considering Affiliate Marketing as a revenue stream.

At first, I have to be honest, I was thinking that buying into another training or “shiny object” wasn’t in the plan for me. But then I started thinking of the time I have available. I have to be honest, it seems as if I’m in need of more time than I currently have. If I take into consideration my 8-4 daily job, my other business that is starting up (a musical app I’d like to talk more about) and my Affiliate Marketing business and I either need to sleep less or face the reality that I’m running a bit out of time!

I also have grown to know Dean and what he offers. Something that is a big difference when taking everything into consideration. I know he always over-delivers and provides sound information based on his own research and his own work.

Now, considering that Canada (where I reside), isn’t part of the countries that currently offers Tik Tok Shop but (hopefully) will in the near future, (even if the Canadian government recently closed down their Canadian offices), I figured that it might be interesting for me to get a leg-up on how Dean proposes to set us up so that, once it does open up, I can run right out of the gate.

The other consideration is that it pertains to Tik Tok and I need to increase my knowledge on that Social Media platform. I figured that I was investing in that knowledge base and knowing more about how to use it to increase my sales couldn’t hurt. Something to discuss in future blogs!

So, with that being said, I’ll be continuing to blog and keep you updated in the following weeks and, like many around us, slowly preparing for the Holidays after having taken advantage of the Black Friday sales!

  2. Loved this post—so relatable and encouraging! Life really does have a way of throwing curveballs, but your reminder to “carry on” and not sweat the small stuff hit home. Your honesty about juggling everything (especially in the cold Canadian winter!) and staying committed despite setbacks is so inspiring. I’m curious to hear more about your musical app too—sounds exciting! Looking forward to your future blogs and TikTok updates.

  3. Hi, Marc!
I can relate to losing track of my business in the midst of a busy life. Our blogs are very similar this week, in that respect. Let’s keep at it! And most importantly, let’s keep at it because it is fun! I like what you said there. One of my biggest revelations concerning my business this fall is that I need to change direction/perspective. I want to “come to work” at my computer because I enjoy it and not because I’m desperate to make extra money. One is an avenue of need, and one is of joy. I choose joy! So, I’m looking forward to that small shift in perspective changing how I start my day. And we’ll see where it leads!
I’ll see you in Dean’s TikTok class,
    Nakina
